Trespass: Jewellery shop looted

BAHAWALPUR: Unidentified robbers took away Rs6.5 million in cash, gold jewellery and other valuables from a shop in Mubarakpur on Wednesday. Malik Ejaz Hussain, the owner of Haji Goldsmith, told the police that the robbers had broken into his shop in the morning when it was closed. He said they took away 650 grams of gold, 15kg of silver, Rs625,000 in cash and the documents of his two cars. Ahmadpur DSP Rao Zahoor Rabbani said that a case had been registered on Hussain’s complaint. He said a watchman, Mehar Rasheed, had been arrested and police were questioning him.
