Fake degree case: Court suspends former MPA's sentence

HYDERABAD:
A former Pakistan People's Party MPA, Bashir Sarewal, was released by Sindh High Court Hyderabad bench on Wednesday. Sarewal was convicted in a fake degree case by the district and sessions court of Badin on September 25 and was sentenced to two years in jail along with a fine of Rs5,000. However, Sarewal, who was elected as an MPA in 2008 from PS-56 Badin, has had his conviction suspended, with bail being agreed at Rs500,000 surety.
