LAHORE: Ambassador of Tajkistan, Jononov Sherali, speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) on Monday said that his country is keen to develop bilateral ties with Pakistan as both sides have huge potential in various sectors of the economy. He said that more than 60% of the cement consumed in Tajkistan was imported from Pakistan. Sherali said that the resolution signed by inter-governmental council of Central Asia South Asia (CASA) for the provision of 1,300 MW electricity would pave ways for better trade relations between the two countries. LCCI President, Engineer Sohail Lashari said Pakistan could also help to serve as an energy and trade corridor for Tajikistan through Gwadar Deep Sea port connected with central Asian states. He said greater interaction between the Chambers of Commerce of the two countries and exchange of trade delegations could increase the volume of bilateral trade.
