KOHAT:


Two suspected militants were arrested and a large cache of weapons was recovered from their possession in Darra Adam Khel, Frontier Region (FR) Kohat on Friday afternoon.


An official of the security forces said both suspects were arrested at around 12:30pm when a car was stopped at Akhurwal check post for a routine check.


He added 11 submachine guns (SMGs), one Kalakov, one AK-47, 20 magazines, 2,500 bullets, a telescope and a burqa (veil) were found hidden inside the car. The suspects were identified as Naveed Ahmad Afridi, a resident of Jwakai, and Ali Afridi, a resident of Turkey Ismail.


According to the official, Rs30,000 cash was also recovered from the suspects, who were later shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation. The accused revealed during initial investigation they were en route to Karachi from Khyber Agency, the official added.
