Jiah Khan may have been murdered, says mother
Rabiya Khan has filed a fresh petition in the Bombay High Court.
MUMBAI:
Jiah Khan allegedly committed suicide earlier this year and a letter was found where she pointed a finger at her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi to be the cause. Her mother Rabiya Khan has now filed a fresh petition in the Bombay High Court claiming that her daughter could have been murdered. She has sought a CBI inquiry into the case.
“Rabiya feels the investigation was not done properly. If you go by the medical opinion and other evidence, it would indicate something is missing as far as suicide is concerned,” Dinesh Tiwari, who is Rabiya’s lawyer, told IANS. “Jiah Khan’s case is apparently a case of murder.” Rabiya filed the plea a few days ago.
Jiah, known for her role in Nishabd, was found hanging from the ceiling at her Juhu residence on June 3. She was only 25 years old.
A week later, on June 10, her boyfriend Sooraj was arrested on charges of abetting her suicide. Sooraj, son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, was granted bail on July 1 by the court.
