ISLAMABAD: The business community should pay 10 per cent additional tax to contribute towards quality education in the country.

This was stated by veteran social and political worker Jahangir Akhtar at a press conference on Tuesday where he stressed the establishment of quality educational institutions to provide technical skills to the youth. Akhtar said the population explosion is  the main reason behind the prevailing anarchy and lawlessness in the country. He said 2 million youth are left without jobs every year. Akhtar said that anti-terror laws and military operations are meaningless unless the root causes — of unemployment and poverty — are addressed.

The veteran social worker warned that he would go on a hunger strike for an indefinite period from October 28 if the business community and the government do not pay heed to his suggestions.
