KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued on Wednesday a notice to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and others on a petition seeking suspension of the election tribunal’s orders for verification of thumb impressions of the voters registered in PS-114 constituency of Karachi. The Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz candidate, Irfanullah Marwat, had challenged the order on August 3 in which the tribunalhad ordered district South’s returning officer to collect the counter-foils, containing the thumb impression of the voters, and send them to the National Database and Registration Authority for verification, which according to his lawyers, was not in accordance with the law.
