Protest School teachers demand raise, regular jobs
The protestors said they had been working for the Education Department for 18 years.

As many as 81 teachers of Government Municipal Model School on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration at Jail Chowk against the administration to demand raises and regularisation of service.
The protestors said they had been working for the Education Department for 18 years.
A teacher told the media that she was being paid Rs3,000 per month which was less than the minimum wage [Rs10,000] mandated by the provincial government for unskilled labourers.
The protest ended when MPA Ashraf Deona assured the protestors that their demands would be taken to District Coordination Officer Bilal Lodhi.
The DCO told the media that “the private school management committee had hired these teachers.”
He said the government could not regularise their jobs. But also said the EDO (Education) would look into the matter.
