This year’s voyage will witness a fusion of Eastern, Western and regionally-inspired music for which the platform has come to be renowned. However, this season goes deeper in its journey, exploring the international heritage of popular local music genres, tracing these global influences that have left an indelible impact on Pakistan's national and cultural musical identity.
To that end, Coke Studio's cross-genre Pakistani musical talent will be joined by international musicians trained in both contemporary and traditional instrumentation. Season 6 will incorporate global music influences spanning from Fes, Morocco, to the Balkans, the Ottoman, and Kathmandu, Nepal. With this added dimension to its sixth season, Coke Studio endeavours to make Pakistani music more accessible to a global audience, while at the same time encouraging international artists to adopt and integrate Pakistani music influences into their own compositions.
Hosted by media personality Anoushey Ashraf, the press conference was opened by a musical rendition of the National Anthem followed by a minute of silence in remembrance of the Peshawar bombing and Balochistan earthquake victims.
A video recapturing the essence and influence of the past five seasons of Coke Studio was screened thereafter, following which the host invited Rizwan U. Khan, General Manager of Coca-Cola Pakistan and John Seward, General Manager of Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited (CCBPL) onto the stage. An exclusive Season 6 session preview, featuring Muazzam Ali Khan and Fariha Pervez titled Jogi was also screened for all the attendees. Anoushey then invited participating talent from Coke Studio Season 6 on stage after which Rizwan U. Khan and John Seward unveiled a limited edition commemorative coffee-table book as conceived, compiled and published by Markings, titled Coke Studio – Sound of the Nation - a vibrant visual journey that charters the cultural, social and emotional impact of a music platform that has regaled Pakistani and international audiences for over five years.
Speaking about Coke Studio, Rizwan U. Khan, General Manager of Coca-Cola Pakistan stated, “At Coca-Cola we pride ourselves on being on the forefront of new and dynamic innovations, and we can say with confidence that Coke Studio is precisely that. With this season Coke Studio embraces and espouses an even more global identity, fusing it in harmony with Pakistan's heritage. We all look forward to bringing another groundbreaking season of Coke Studio to the nation.”
A detailed schedule of the Season will be released on October 6, 2013.
#CokeStudio6 will have around 24-25 songs in total with longer BTS this time.Hope none of the tracks get axed out this time around.

Ayesha Omer <3
i am big fan of ALi Azmat
i am big fan of Ali Azmat in coke studio songs like so much
@YA Lets c how she does.I think Rohail Hayat always experiments with one singer who is not well known for his/her vocals, komal rizvi, meesha shafi. So this time around its our very own khoobsoorat's turn...:P
@Wali: well they had komal last time around...
I missed Saieen Zahoor a lot. Truly spiritual voice. Bring it on.
Why artists Atif Aslam, Umair Jaswal, Zeb & Haniya and Sanam Marvi are repeated so much in CS ?? New and old artist should be given chances to explore like Rahim Shah and others who have contributed in pop industry but not been experimented and explored in CS.
@witty: your comment is so witty :P trained singer or not, i think she doesnt seem to have the vocals good enough to be appearing in coke studio
This is one Qom who is never happy. Its not even released yet and people crying over what is missing.
Am I the only one who can't even wait a second to watch this... I hope that coke studio becomes a world phenomenon (although it has already achieved great success).... and.. this is to coke studio.. I don't know if you are reading my comment or not, but I just want to say what ever step you take towards your art, the whole Pakistani nation is behind you, love you and cherish you, you guys are a pride to our nation.... We all will love you no matter what.. and with that line up and all the information I got for season 6, I don't even see a slightest bad stain in this season... it is going to be epic... I don't think there would be anything, or any where in the season which would be left without appreciation.... I don't thing who ever reads that line up and everything of season 6 will have low expectations.... WE ALL PAKISTANI LOVE YOU... THANK YOU TO MAKE US PROUD!
@np: Obviously, a treat to listen as well. Would you imagine me muting my TV and watching Coke Studio? I see it as both.
The only problem I have with coke studio is that music behind every song sounds very similar. They need to explore other genres of music other than the typical acoustic guitar, dhol, table and drum combo that they use.
The artist lineup looks promising especially with the inclusion of Rustam Fateh Ali Khan sahab, Asad Abbas and Zara Madni. I tell you its going to be a treat to watch.
Ayesha omer is a trained singer by the way, although I am not a fan of her singing but I think she can do well
Who's Rustam Fateh Ali Khan? Shouldn't it be Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
its not a recovery if ayesha omar is in.it. hope coke studio is away from turkish influences.
Ayesha omer... Seriously???
