World heart day: Doctors hold awareness walk

A large number of doctors and civil society representatives participated.

SUKKUR: An awareness walk was held in Jacobabad on Monday to mark World Heart Day. A large number of doctors and civil society representatives participated. The medical superintendent of Civil Hospital, Dr Karim Bux Qasmi, and cardiologist Dr Asif Leghari led the awareness walk. The participants carried banners and placards on the streets from Civil Hospital to the main thoroughfares outside the press club, where an awareness lecture was held. Dr Qasmi highlighted on precautionary measures that people need to adopt to avoid heart diseases while Dr Leghari informed the audience about the symptoms of heart diseases and preventive measures. He said smoking and consuming liquor are the main causes of heart attack, therefore people should avoid  them.
