LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has summoned the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) chief in person for Tuesday for disconnecting the electricity supply to a company in violation of the court’s orders.  Justice Muhammad Farrukh Irfan observed that the court had issued clear orders that the petitioner’s power supply was not to be stopped. At the onset of proceedings, the petitioner’s counsel submitted that though the court had already issued a show cause notice and a contempt notice to the Fesco chief and had summoned him for October 3, the company’s electricity meter had been removed, causing them a loss of business worth millions. He added that Fesco was no longer demanding “equalisation charges” from him on his electricity bill, which was the original reason he had moved the court. The LHC summoned the Fesco chief for Tuesday to explain why he shouldn’t face contempt proceedings.
