School van accident: Child killed, eight others injured

GUJRAT: A child died on Monday and eight others were severely injured on Monday when a speeding van overturned in Gujrat Town. The injured were taken to a hospital, where they were said to be in critical condition. Rescue officials said the van overturned and fell off the road while taking a turn on Jalalpur Jattan Road. They said it was carrying 20 students. Nine students, who were stuck in the wreck were pulled out and taken to district headquarters hospital, where one of them died a few hours later. Police have arrested the van driver.
