Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid has said Pakistan government was not sincere in holding meaningful dialogue as it took dictates from the US and, therefore, it cannot be trusted.
“Nawaz Sharif is deceiving us as well as the Pakistani nation,” he said, speaking from an undisclosed location.
The TTP spokesperson said it would negotiate with the government only if it withdrew army from the tribal areas, stopped drone strikes and released their prisoners.
“Nawaz has demanded that Taliban should disarm before initiating peace dialogue and show allegiance to the Constitution of Pakistan,” he said, adding that these demands were not included in the All Parties’ Conference (APC) announcement.
He alleged that the government had killed 12 of the TTP prisoners in Upper Dir and then threw their bodies in Lower Dir.
“It was in response of this brutal act that the TTP attacked a police van in Pishin district of Balochistan.”
The TTP spokesperson said Sirajuddin Haqqani neither chaired the Shoora meeting nor was he present there. “Whenever such meetings take place, they are chaired by Hakeemullah Mehsud.”
When TTP spokesperson was asked to comment on PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s statement about opening Taliban office, he declined to respond.

@Farhan, yeah and daily bombings are conducted by humanoid robots designed by combined efforts of yahoodi o hanoodi o nasrani scientists!
Ahan, that sums up everything pretty nicely.
So, ET also has a guy named Shahidullah Shahid housed at an unknown location.
Well, TTP is surely making sincere efforts in killing innocent and unarmed civilians in Pakistan. They should be asked that this mayhem is permitted under which Shariat or Islamic principles/ laws.
This is the pot calling the kettle black. The govt announced talks. Instead of reciprocating the gesture, TTP killed our soldiers, said that it will not end such attacks and laid down a list of totally impractical preconditions for talks. It's another matter that despite this blatent lack of seriousness on part of TTP to make peace, apologists like PTI still have their heads in the sand and continue to insist on talks.
these all are the game of penny, paisa (back door funding support) when these stop then all will be gradually losing the grips.
As much as anyone who wants peace to return in Pakistan and does not preclude talks with the Taliban the Taliban statemnts not only lack credibity but seem to suggest a sense of bravado, certainly a brattish attitude of do as I say or ...!
It all sounds rather dissapointing to hold out hope. But, here is where the Pakistani government can show intent and sincerity of purpose. Clean house of its own in house corrupt people aiding these groups and then by force take out the other actors like laskar jhangvi and the like and eliminate with extreme prejudice. Then, call out to the Taliban and ask if they would wish to talk! Otherwise status quo would just well continue the culling of the innocent.
If you were the TTP would you negotiate with the govt? Didn't think so. The reality is that there winning and neither the govt nor military has shown the willingness to do what it takes to defeat these terrorist.
@ Justice and Peace
Bashing security establishment has become a fashion in Pakistan despite its overwhelming support to the previous and current oligarchic civilian rulers. What is bad in the policy of security establishment that seeks the approval and ownership of civilian leadership for now the less likely chances of talks with TTP or inevitable operation.
Does this leave any doubts as to the intent of TTP?They want to keep on killing, and insist that they won't accept the authority of constitution of Pakistan. Off course, apologists for them will keep on legitimizing their mayhem.
The Govt. and democracy is losing its legitimacy and authority to take serious decision. Both the weaker democracy and strong security establishment is having difference on the core issues. Until the Govt. is unconfident in taking serious steps toward peace it seems both the internal and external issues will not be addressed. There is clear lack of seriousness and consensus that might lead the situation worst. Those who opposing dialogue process and peace settlement basically dragging nation into fatal death.
Dear TTP please don't loose hope, Imran Khan is making 'sincere efforts' to hand over this country to you. Just be calm and wait.
