According to the US Geological Survey, the aftershock measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale was 41 kilometers further North-East from the site of Tuesday’s massive 7.8 quake.
The earthquake, till latest information has killed at least 359 people and injured over 600. As many as 300,000 people have been displaced affecting at least 21,000 households. The full extent of the toll has not been ascertained yet, with many believed to be trapped under rubble.

Earlier in the day, the region was jolted with an aftershock of the Balochistan earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter of the aftershock was 89 kilometers South West of Awaran where the earthquake has caused the most damage.
On the afternoon of September 24, an earthquake measuring 7.8 caused upto 90 per cent damage in Awaran. At least two subsequent aftershocks measuring 5.9 and 4.7 added to the damage in the sparsely populated province.
The quake struck Quetta, Chagai, Dalbandin, Naushki, Panjgur, Turbat, Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara, Mastung, Kalat, Sorab, Khuzdar, Sibi, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Lasbela, Taftan, Nokkundi and several other small towns, villages and hamlets in the impoverished province.
