Kifayat, a resident of Scheme Chowk, and Anar Gul, a resident of Abdara Road, were arrested by Mattani police for allegedly carrying 100 kilogrammes of explosives, 800 detonators and 600 safety fuses on July 31. They were reportedly transporting the explosives from Darra Adam Khel to Peshawar.
On August 8, an ATC charged both of them under Section 7 of the Anti Terrorism Act, 1997 and Section 5 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908.
PHC Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan said making and possessing explosives in such large amounts is a clear threat to the security of the country under the present circumstances. “These people cannot be given a free hand to carry out such acts in future.”
Justice Khan then ordered that bail application of the accused should not be accepted and they remain in jail.
