Zaman, who recently won the DG Rangers (Sindh) Squash Championship by beating Iqbal, was in tremendous form during the match as he won the first game. However, he conceded the second set despite being 10-3 at one point. In the end, it was Zaman who carried the day with game scores of 11-5, 10-12, 11-5, 7-11 and 11-6.
In the final, he will face Danish Atlas Khan, who defeated elder brother and Asian champion Aamir Atlas Khan 3-1 with a scoreline of 11-1, 7-11, 11-8 and 11-9.
Pakistan head coach Jamshed Gul was pleased with the performances of youngsters Zaman and Danish as he believes that they have finally started to showcase their true potential.
“Zaman is in tremendous form right now and if he carries on like this, there is no reason why he shouldn’t make it to the top 30 in the world,” Gul told The Express Tribune. “As far as Danish is concerned, he played well too but I think Aamir isn’t at 100% otherwise he wouldn’t have lost so easily.”

Good to see young Pakistanis coming up, but to associate so much hope with them is not right at the moment. These players lack in physical fitness and consistency. Players like Amir and Nasir should be invincible at home to be of any good outside which they clearly are not. These top Pak players don't even care to participate in top tier psa world tour events qualifiers. Just a couple of months ago I witnessed Pak's Farhan Zaman crushed by a post-retirement 37 year old Thierry Lincou in the World Team championships. We really need the federation to start aiming for the top and act accordingly instead of handing the squash at the hands of some limited names who have made squash their family business literally.
all the best.
