The bail of a suspect detained in connection with Dr Imran Farooq’s murder case has been extended till the end of the year. The 52-year-old suspect (unofficially identified as Iftikhar Hussain) was presented at a London police station on Tuesday morning. He would now appear at a later date in December, the London Metropolitan Police said on Tuesday.
Hussain, who was arrested by the Met Police at Heathrow airport upon his arrival from Canada on June 24, is said to be a close relative of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain. He was taken into custody on suspicion of ‘conspiracy to murder’ but was released on bail to return to a police station on September 24.
A Met Police spokesperson told The Express Tribune that the suspect has been ‘re-bailed’ and would be brought to a police station in December. The date of his next appearance was not disclosed.

@Dani good on you Dani
Honestly I'm more concerned about what happened in Peshawar which resulted in 80+ people dead and over 150 severely injured.
As per the wishes & right of the people present at the church, has the police registered an FIR for the terrorist attack against Khattak and Immi or are they beyond the reach of KP police/judiciary in Naya Pakistan?
Those who dream day and night that this murder is due to internal MQM infighting or because Dr Imran Farooq was planning to make another Political party should wake up now. Dr Imran family including his brother and Widow and children who all lives in London working for MQM and have trust on Altaf Hussain this murder will expose everything that how people inside and outside Pakistan planned to eliminate MQM from the scene and it will happen real soon
it looks as if the British government has learnt from the Pakistani government on how to dilly dally and give excuses of delays and complications to NATIONAL SECURITY. Salams
As per media reports, Mr. Imran Farooq was planning to form another political party and he was assassinated to derail his party formation plans. UK Govt must make sure that the terrorists involved in this murder must be brought to books.
the days of the karachi mobster seem to be numbered. It is only a matter of time ...
