GOR-IV encroachments: Residents complain to ACS
Houses in GOR-IV are allotted to officers in BS-17-19, according to the allotment policy.
LAHORE:
Residents of Government Officers’ Residences (GOR-IV) Faisal Town have submitted an application to the additional chief secretary complaining about illegal constructions around some houses, The Express Tribune has learnt. They have asked the authorities to demolish the structures, which include garages to park cars and servant quarters, an official said. The applicants wrote that the illegal structures were leading to parking, cleanliness and sanitation issues, which could lead to public health problems. Heaps of solid waste sit unchecked in some illegally constructed areas, they said, asking the additional chief secretary to take action. A senior official of the Services and General Administration Department, which is responsible for GOR areas, confirmed that a complaint about illegal structures in GOR-IV had been received. He said that an official had been tasked with verifying the facts and the allegations in the application. He said no resident of a house in a GOR area was allowed to construct a structure in the house. Houses in GOR-IV are allotted to officers in BS-17-19, according to the allotment policy.
