‘Target killers’: Suspects sent on transit remand

The Karachi police took the accused back to Karachi for further investigation and arraignment.

RAWALPINDI: A court in Murree on Friday sent 14 suspected target killers on three-day transit remand and handed them over to the Karachi police. The alleged target killers were arrested by the Murree police from a local hotel two days back. A team of Karachi police later arrived in the city with the suspects’ criminal records to pick them up. The Karachi police took the accused back to Karachi for further investigation and arraignment. The suspects were identified as Shoaib, Idrees, Sajjad, Sahid Qadri, Khalid, Mehmood, Danish, Muhammad Asim, Naeem, Imran, Maqsood, Amir, Basharat Abbasi and Muhammad Ahmad Abbasi. Two of the detainees including Basharat Abbasi, Muhammad Ahmad were reportedly facilitating the killers. Karachi Police Investigation Officer Zahid Hanif Siddiqi told The Express Tribune that the arrested persons were most wanted in various crimes.
