FAISALABAD: Hundreds of shopkeepers from Mamu Kanjan on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against police for not arresting robbers who looted a local trader’s house on Sunday night. Muhammad Naveed, one of the protestors, told the media that three armed men had broken into the house of Muhammad Ramzan Mughal, a resident of Lakkar Mandi on Sunday night. He said the robbers held the family at gunpoint and took away cash and jewellery worth millions of rupees. “They also beat up Mughal’s family,” he said. The protestors blocked the Mamu Kanjan Chowk and demanded that the robbers be immediately arrested. The traders formed an 11-member committee, headed by former MNA Chaudhry Safdar Shakir, for a meeting with the regional police officer and the city police officer.
