Prime minister condemns ‘gutless act’

ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has condemned the IED attack which left three Pakistan army officials dead.

In his message of condolence issued on Sunday, the prime minister termed the incident a gutless act. He said, “The Pakistan Army has made substantial sacrifices to protect the nation against the menace of terrorism and such cowardly acts by terrorists cannot deter the morale of our Armed Forces.”

President Mamnoon Hussain also expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of General Officer Commanding (GOC) Malakand Division Major General Sanaullah, Lieutenant Colonel Tauseef and Lance Naik Irfan Sattar.


The President, in his condolence message, paid tribute to the senior officers for their service in the defence of the country and prayed for their eternal peace.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also telephoned the Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani to express his condolences over the loss of lives and to discuss the likely response to such an attack.

The minister expressed solidarity with the army on behalf of the government and paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of Army for the defence of the country.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak condemned the incident as well. He conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families and declared the incident a great loss to the country.
