Robbery gone wrong: ‘Robber’ killed, ASI injured in shootout

5 men break into a house, but things do not go as planned.

FAISALABAD: A man was killed in a shootout with the police and an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and a villager were injured. Police said five men broke into Haji Aslam’s house and holding his family at gunpoint, began collecting valuables. One of the inmates managed to call the police. A team headed by ASI Muhammad Siddique rushed to the scene and surrounded the house. Police told the robbers to surrender but they started shooting at them. The police team fired back and killed a robber. His accomplices escape. ASI Muhammad Siddique and Sajjad Anjum, a villager, were injured in the encounter and taken to a hospital from where they were referred to Allied Hospital.
