India has issued visas to the Faisalabad Wolves and the team will now be able to play the Champions League Twenty20 tournament, Geo News reported on Friday.

It had earlier been reported that the Wolves, who had became the second Pakistan outfit to qualify for the prestigious tournament, will not be granted Indian visas due to security concerns in the wake of the political tension between the two governments.

The Faisalabad outfit, led by Pakistan Test and One-Day International captain Misbahul Haq, are scheduled to start the four-team qualifying stage of the event from September 17.

Faisalabad Wolves, along with Otago Volts, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kandurata Maroons will play the qualifiers beginning on September 17 in Hyderabad, with the top two sides advancing to the main draw starting on September 21.

The outfits have been divided into two groups with top two teams progressing to the semi-finals.

Due to strained relations between the governments, the Champions League T20, run by the Indian board, ignored domestic sides from Pakistan in its first few years.

However, Sialkot Stallions had became the first side from the country to feature in the lucrative tournament last year when it got a slot in the qualifying tournament.
