GCUF: Rs800m approved for hi-tech labs

An initial grant of Rs50 million for the laboratories have been released.

FAISALABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has approved Rs800 million for the establishment of hi-tech laboratories in six departments of Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), university spokesman Abid Kamalvi said on Thursday. He said that the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) had released an initial grant of Rs50 million for the laboratories, which would be completed under the supervision of the CDWP. He said that the hi-tech laboratories would be establishment in the Bio-informatics Department, the Physics Department, the Zoology Department, the Chemistry Department, the Food Sciences Department and the Department of Computer Sciences. He said the laboratories will also help the educational, industrial, agricultural and commercial institutions of Faisalabad in research.
