Infanticide: Accused remanded in police custody

A man accused of deliberately throwing his two-year-old daughter in the River Ravi has been remanded in police custody for five days.

Shahdara police produced Umar Hayat, a driver, before a judicial magistrate on Wednesday. Hayat’s wife, Sumera Bibi, alleges that he tossed their daughter, Zainab, into the river after they had a fight a few days ago.
