Power distribution: USAID joins hands with ACCA

ACCA Pakistan recently awarded the USAID Power Distribution Programme “platinum-approved employer status”.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Pakistan recently awarded the USAID Power Distribution Programme “platinum-approved employer status”. The programme involves working with government-owned power distribution companies (DISCOs) to improve performance a reduction in losses and improvement in revenues and customer services. Through this program, the US government provides assistance and support to Pakistan in its efforts to reform the power sector and end the country’s energy shortfall. The approved employer certificate was presented to USAID Power Distribution Programme’s Chief Craig Van Develde by Arif Masud Mirza, the head of ACCA Pakistan. Develde said “Through collaboration with ACCA, we aim to provide quality human resource in the finance and audit departments of DISCOs. This will ensure young professionals to serve these organisations which need them at a time of this energy crisis”. Mirza said “We are pleased to work with USAID for recruiting a talented pool of students, trainees and members”.
