The Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) and Mira Power Limited on Monday executed the Government of Pakistan Implementation Agreement (GOPIA) for the construction of 100 megawatt (MW) Gulpur Hydropower project.
Execution of the Implementation Agreement will pave the way for financial closure, and subsequently, the start of construction and operation of the project.
Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said that the PML-N was taking solid steps to control the energy crisis and enhancing power production in the country. He said that 100MW Gulpur project was a run-of-the-river hydropower project located in Kotli, Azad and Jammu Kashmir, and has the capacity to generate 465 million units of electricity per year.
