In an official statement, Khan said that this was just the beginning of the formation of a national holistic policy on counter terrorism.
He added that his meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Kayani and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, prior to the All Parties Conference (APC) had also proved to be satisfactory.
Khan said that political parties had shown clarity in opposing drone strikes in the Conference, stating that this would allow Pakistan to move in a clearer direction in terms of developing its counter-terrorism policy.
PTI Chairman said that taking the drone issue to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) must also be seen as one of the many policy options.
Asserting that he opposes the idea of sending military to tribal areas, he said that his meeting with General Kayani and Prime Minister Sharif had answered a lot of questions.

Federal government of PML-N has included suggestions of PTI in APC resolution. Imran Khan should support the govt on TTP issue. He should not do politics for the sake of politics now. Hope that PTI will play its positive role in establishing peace in Pakistan through political means.
@moz: the only party in Karachi that wants the army is the MQM my friend. What rock have you been living under.
Was the sectarian killing also discussed? Any action plan?
@Zain Please top propagating lies. He has never criticized the monsters and he has only contributed to a faltering resolve to address this issue. Stop pretending IK even understands the issue. He is a seeker of personal glory. Beyond this nothing matters to him. He can change any position any time, if it suits him. You guys who part of a cult are barriers to the solution.
@moz: You must know IK visited tribal belt quite often. And non of Sharif family and Zardari family went to Tribal area in last 15 years. Even though PMl-N and PPP are making policies on Tribal belt.
@MFaisal: U can cry a lot aswell.
@Uza Syed: Quite an interesting reply from one whose own leadership took the same view as PTI.....
please ET. keep this in records, and reference this news item when he start crying. which i believe will happen next week.
@csmann
Firstly its not CARRIER, instead it CAREER.. SECONDLY you should just search some past interviews of his. HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS OPENLY CRITICISED TTP and all other faction of it. Get your records straight before misleading others. The biggest problem in Pakistan that you only know how to criticise without proofs. IK on the other hand has criticised who ever he has with proofs. All of you laughed at his white paper but for the first time some one made an effort to prove the allegations levelled on others instead of just bantering all the time!!
*from a PMLN voter who admits his mistake of voting for yet another deceiver and a corrupt "so called" leader *
Non of the parties tried to gain political points on this issue except this kid. Stop point scoring and start working.
APC accepted your demand..now you should not cry...
IK is tired now.. its better to agree with the govt, we cant do more protests yaaaar.
@Iftikhar Khan: Your way? Everyone's way.
Praise the lord, IK is happy....
@Qasim:
He himself has hardly ever lived in the tribal belt. There plenty of MNAs and Senators from tribal areas, he is not the only one.
"He is much educated on that than to us living in Punjab or Sindh urban."
I living in urban sindh know that culture is backward. They have a literacy rate of 2% for males, and 0% for females. Tribal Areas contribute absolutely to the national economy. They are virtually under the control of the Taliban. If we can't speak about tribal areas than he shouldn't talk about Karachi, because he knows nothing about this city since he is not from here. It is amazing to note PTI's dual standards. They want army in Karachi to wipe out MQM, but want to talk peace with the taliban.
Imran Khan! U Rock Boy!! I love u & PTI!!
These are Taliban who are hiding another breed is being nurtured by the policies of the elite mafia. The Jobless youth is suffering and few families are ruling since the creation of Pakistan.
LoL now do something yaar... and stop crying because it makes us laugh alot.
IK is the only leader who wrote book on Tribal belt. His family belong to that area. He is much educated on that than to us living in Punjab or Sindh urban.
@Ch. Allah Daad: In case you are unaware, Imran Khan already has the honor of being UNICEF's first Special Sports Representative. .
IK is a great leader and only hope for Pak.
Now he also deserves an International Children's Award.
IK is a great leader and only hope for Pak
IK is a great leader and only hope for Pakistan.
Did he ,in his carrier,even once mentioned TTP,much less criticize them??
Whatever happened to not politicking on terrorism Imran Khan? Let it be decided that your pressure led everyone to call for peace talks. If they too fail like the last 16 times, you should come to the people and accept that the whole time, you had been misleading the public for your own political benefit.
If you are claiming wisdom or even your victory, there's no problem with it as long as this doesn't represent voice of the very monsters who threaten us and who should ultimately be targets of our national resolve and wrath.
So you have it your way IK, better not complain now.
Good luck in your peace talks with 'Terrorists'
