KPT crush Navy in football league

KARACHI: Karachi Port Trust (KPT) gave Pakistan Navy a thrashing as they registered a 4-1 win in the 2010 Pakistan Premier League yesterday.

Muhammad Younus scored the opener for KPT in the 17th minute but Navy’s Muhammad Basharat levelled the score two minutes before the interval. KPT dominated the second half as captain Akhter Mamil scored the second goal in the 57th minute via a penalty. Jalaluddin netted the third goal ten minutes later and Zahid Ahmed sealed KPT’s win with a strike in the 86th minute.

Holders Khan Research Laboratories played out a goalless draw against National Bank of Pakistan and have ten points to show from seven matches. Pakistan Elecktron Limited drew 1-1 with Afghan FC as Riaz Ahmed’s opening goal was equalised by Afghan FC’s Abdul Hadi. PMC Athletico Club defeated Habib Bank Limited 1-0.
