Justice Served: Two men sentenced to 10 years in jail

Additionally, on charges of possessing illicit arms, the men were also sentenced to two to six months imprisonment.

KARACHI: The additional district and sessions judge, Aliya Latif Unar, sentenced two extortionists, Muhammad Sabir and Shahab Zaman, to ten years in jail and imposed Rs5,000 fine on each after finding them guilty of collecting extortion. According to the Civil Lines police, the two men along with their two absconding accomplices, Taig Ali Magsi and Muhammad Mujahid alias Azad, had threatened to kill a cellular company’s franchise owner. They had received Rs100,000 as extortion money in cash and Rs29,00,000 through cheques in March, 2012. Additionally, on the charges of possessing illicit arms, the two men were also sentenced to two to six months imprisonment and ordered to pay Rs1,000 fine each.
