PAF clinch second win of season

Team defeats debutants Lyallpur FC 2-1 in PPFL.

PAF registered their second win in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) as they defeated debutants Lyallpur FC 2-1 at the Model Town Football Stadium in Lahore yesterday.


PAF, who finished fifth last season, scored the opener on a penalty taken by their striker Irfan Ali in the 31st minute, while Arif Nawaz doubled the lead over Lyallpur FC three minutes later.

Lyallpur FC, however, replied in the second-half with a more defensive game, and their striker Naeemullah scored a goal on a counter in the 62nd minute.

PAF have played three matches out of which they have won two. They had earlier lost to Army before compensating with a victory against Lyallpur FC.

Meanwhile, in today’s fixtures, two-time champions Army will play their second match of the league with four-time champions Wapda in Lahore.

Former champions PIA will also face HBL at the KPT Stadium in Karachi.
