KARACHI: A man was crushed to death by a goods trailer at Gulshan-e-Hadeed’s Link Road within the jurisdiction of Steel Town Police Station on Friday. The deceased was identified as 47-year-old Mohammad Hussain, son of Mohammad Moosa, a resident of Fisheries. Police officials said that the accident occurred when the deceased was on his way to Super Highway from Gulshan-e-Hadeed in his Toyota Datsun. “Our initial investigation suggests that the deceased was attempting to overtake the two trailers. He had managed to overtake one when the second trailer, loaded with containers, hit his vehicle from the rear,” the inquiry officer, Mohammad Rasheed, told The Express Tribune. As a result of the collision, the Datsun spun out of control and was caught between the two trailers. Initial reports had suggested that four people were travelling in the Datsun. The officer, however, refuted these claims and clarified that the deceased was the only person in the Datsun. Meanwhile the police are on the lookout for the drivers of both trailers who managed to escape.
