KARACHI: KPT thrashed PIA 5-1 in their Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) match at the KPT Stadium in Karachi yesterday.

The deadlock was broken in the 11th minute when PIA let in an own-goal to give KPT an early 1-0 advantage. However, PIA’s Shakir Lashari levelled the score in the 27th minute. KPT restored their lead in the 45th minute through Muhammad Khan as the teams went into the half-time interval at 2-1.

The second half saw one-way traffic as Naveed Ahmed, Junaid Qadir and Zafar Majeed scored a goal each to hand KPT a resounding 5-1 win.

In another match, four-time champions Wapda defeated ZTBL 3-1 in Lahore. After a goalless first half, Zulfiqar Ali Shah put Wapda ahead in the 60th minute before ZTBL equalised six minutes later through Naeem Iqbal’s goal.

However, Muhammad Adnan and Saadat Ali scored late goals to seal Wapda’s second win.
