KESC’s key striker Muhammad Rasool scored the opening goal in the 36th minute to lead his side 1-0 during half-time.
Rasool struck his second goal in the 78th minute, while HBL managed to reply through Muhammad Saeed’s solitary goal in the 84th.
KESC will be gunning to win the championship in this edition according to their player Essa Khan.
In Lahore, Army, who finished fourth last season, will encounter PAF at the Railway Football Stadium today.
Army will be fielding a new team, stated their coach Shafqat Mehmood, while adding that goalkeeper Jaffar Khan will miss the league due to an injury.
Meanwhile, PAF coach Arshad Khan believes the team is confident after their win in the opener.
