"PTI stands committed to working for peace and order in Karachi with all forces committed to achieving this end," said the PTI chief. "Leave aside political party compulsions and tackle all burning problems with determination."
Khan said Karachi has bled for over two decades, and criticised successive governments for having neither the capability nor the political will to resolve these issues.
"Time has come to address these problems through a fresh and revolutionary approach," he observed.
Some of the proposals PTI is known to suggest are the depoliticisation of police and the extermination of militant wings bred by political parties.
Imran Khan also said that PTI was unable to participate in the meeting on Karachi's security chaired by the Prime Minister because the party's leadership was never informed of the meeting officially. Hence, the party could not send over its delegates.

Your comment makes one feel you are really concerned about Karachi sitaution. But I am afraid you do not know the history of voilance in the city.
Just one factor from a long list which starts from 1964 is : False allegation of Jinnahpur and on this pretext a military operation in Karachi which led to killings of 15000 Karachiites. This operation has changed the face of Karachi forever.
I hope you will remember this and would try to learn more about it. Thanks.
No one asked you, please start working on KPK. Start from the root cause rather than making mobile courts. Change the system, not the packaging.
@Usman: Sorry, but the only reason PTI got any votes in Karachi is because all the tanga parties boycotted the election, so all the deserters went to the PTI camp. I live in Karachi, and I do support the MQM from a distance. I agree that MQM has a militant side, but I also admit that I have never in my life seen a political party with such an unbelievable public support base as the MQM. Just the women's rally they held in Karachi was an epic show of force, I have never seen before.

Imran Khan is the best. Only solution to Karachi violence is depoliticisation of police. Every one knows, even the business community said to PM in todays meeting that we have to get rid of this fight between MQM and PPP militants of which the business men are suffering. Isn't that enough as proof! Let the operation begin. All prisoners will be out and about in 6 months. And target killing will remain the same.......
Those of you asking who he thinks he is cause his party rules in KPK are quite immature. PTI one the second largest amount of votes in Karachi after MQM so clearly as its leader he does deserve some say in the matter. If this dispensation is a democratoc one than .......simple sense says that they should have at least been heard.
Peace can only be achieved in Karachi by working closely with the citizens, groups or political parties who are part of the the solution.
MQM, ANP and the so call Sunni Tehrik are part of the problem and NOT part of the solution, MQM being the leader and inventors of terrorism in Karachi. They should be brought to justice in the court of the law by supporting and encouraging those who are their victims to come forward, and there are plenty. They are afraid for their lives as MQM has eradicated any potential threats by bullets. The murder of Wali Khan Babar followed by the murders of all the eyewitnesses are the recent example.
As long as MQM exists with the terrorist elements in them, the piece in Karachi will be a difficult task to achieve.
