Rights’: struggle PFUJ to pay tribute to founding leaders

To pay homage to three veteran journalists and trade union leaders — Nisar Usmani, Minhaj Barna and I.H. Rashid — and to honour their memory, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has planned various programmes. PFUJ has directed its affiliated unions throughout the country to organise seminars and references to highlight the leaders’ struggle for the cause of journalists and media workers.

According to a press release, a main ceremony to mark the occasion will be held at the PFUJ Secretariat near Marriott Hotel in F-5/1 on September 4 at 3pm.

A seminar will be held to highlight the sacrifices rendered by the respected leaders who worked for the collective cause of the journalist community.

Their struggle for democracy and their stand against dictators should not be forgotten, said a PFUJ official.
