ISLAMABAD: A roadside bomb killed three soldiers Sunday in North Waziristan, the military said.

The incident happened in the Boya area of North Waziristan, a stronghold of militants linked to the Taliban and al Qaeda.

"At least three soldiers embraced shahadat in an Improvised Explosive Device explosion," the military said in a statement.

North Waziristan is frequently targeted by US drones. A drone strike on August 31 on a compound in the Heso Khel area killed at least four militants.

@Uzair Malik: Did that do any damage to the americans or drones? They killed their own country's protectors, knowing fully well that they have a whole population of gullible Paksitanis to legitimize their act, even while putting their neighbors and family into graves. One gets what one asks for.
