A person was injured when a group of armed men opened fire on labourers working at a house at Soan Garden in the limits of Lohi Bher Police Station on Saturday.
Chaudhry Arshad Mehmood, the house’s owner, told The Express Tribune that labourers were working in the house when Raza Khokhar came along with 25 armed guards who allegedly opened fire on them.
Mehmood said that Khokhar came to his house around four days ago and told him to stop work on the property, claiming that he is the actual owner. “Then on Friday, he called and told me to pay him Rs10 million or leave the house. I refused,” he said.
On Saturday, Khokhar came along with his guards and started indiscriminate fire on the labourers, leaving one injured, according to Mehmood.
He said an FIR has been lodged at the Lohi Bher Police Station but Khokar is threatening him with dire consequences. When contacted, police officials said policemen have been sent to the crime scene and an FIR has been registered. The police said protection will be provided to the complainant and action will be taken against the accused.
