ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Saturday condemned the drone strike in North Waziristan that reportedly killed four people.

According to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry on Saturday evening, it condemned the strike in Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan.

The statement termed the unilateral strike a “violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

“Pakistan has repeatedly emphasised the importance of bringing an immediate end to drone strikes,” it added.

The government has consistently maintained that drone strikes are counter-productive, entail loss of innocent civilian lives and have human rights and humanitarian implications. Such strikes also set dangerous precedents in the inter-state relations.

“These drone strikes have a negative impact on the mutual desire of both countries to forge a cordial and cooperative relationship and to ensure peace and stability in the region.”

@csmann: Dear csmann, America has gone around the world for many years now, protecting the world from so called bad guys, and several million people have finished up dead in the last 13 years alone. However, I do not think you understand the gravity of the situation. Washington is not really concerned with protecting anyone from anyone. They have a system in place to pick off one country after another if they are not part of the world banking and/or US dollar system. Also, they prioritize attacking countries with valuable resources. Even Afghanistan, which on the face of it appears to be poor, has amongst other things, extremely valuable resources under the ground. Additionally, if one could remove all the strings controlling President Obama it may possible to sight his controllers who are in the background and slightly elevated in the balcony above.
