Matters Of Shc: President approves judges’ appointment

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the appointment of eight additional judges to the Sindh High Court. The judges include Shaukat Ali Memon, Ashraf Jehan, Shahnawaz Tariq, Abdul Malik Gaddi, Nazar Akber, Muhammad Junaid Ghaffar, Zafar Ahmed Rajput and Hassan Feroze. Their nominations had initially been forwarded to the Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment in Superior Courts by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan. The Committee agreed to the nominations and forwarded them to the prime minister to advise the President to accord his approval to their appointment for a period of one year. Acting upon the advice, the President has approved their appointments.
