Crackdown: Two profiteers arrested

The city administration in its crackdown against profiteers arrested two shopkeepers and fined 102 retailers Rs122000.

KARACHI: The city administration in its crackdown against profiteers arrested two shopkeepers and fined 102 retailers Rs122,000 on Thursday for fleecing and overcharging buyers. The drive is part of an ongoing campaign launched by Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui against shopkeepers and retailers involved in the violation of the official price list of food items issued by the administration. Those challaned include 19 milkmen, two fruit vendors, 21 greengrocers, 19 grocers and 41 chicken sellers.
