ISLAMABAD: The Voice of Victims (VOV) has appealed to the international community to investigate human rights abuses committed by Indian troops and police personnel during the last 24 years in the territory.

Ahead of the International Day for Disappeared Persons, VOV executive director Abdul Qadeer, general secretary Altaf Ahmad Butt and coordinator Abdul Rauf Khan in a joint statement said that Kashmir had been witnessing innumerable human rights violations, including tortures, extra judicial killings and enforced disappearances over the last two decades, Kashmir Media Service reported.

“The endless wait, immense pain and unexplained silence describe the pathetic conditions of the family members of those who have lost their loved ones.

The denial of justice has added to the plight of the family members of the disappeared people,” they said.
