The Lahore High Court on Thursday allowed the government to proceed with three appointments for the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) through fresh advertisements.
LHC Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial passed the order while hearing a petition filed by Amjad Farooq Alvi, challenging amendments made in rules for appointment of PTA members and chairman.
A deputy attorney general and IT Ministry’s counsel appeared before the court.
They said that the federal government had cancelled the recruitment process initiated for filling posts of PTA members through an advertisement on June 14.
They said the main grievance of the petitioner had been addressed.
They asked the court to recall the order on finalisation of the process.
They assured that no recourse would be made to Rule 4 (2)(b) while finalising the appointments posts of members of the PTA.
