ISLAMABAD: Jamiat-e-Ulema-Islami Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman said that he is willing to facilitate talks between the government and Taliban, Express News reported.

He said this in a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday where he maintained that he was willing to assist on the matter.

The JUI-F chief had earlier welcomed the offer of Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) to talk to the government and had called it a step in the right direction.

TTP in their offer for talks with the government had recommended Rehman and Jamaat-Islami chief Munawar Hasan as intermediaries.

Rehman said that the previous government did not take the offer seriously but the current government should consider making it an important component of the country's anti-terrorism strategy.

Fazlur Rehman said he wanted to help since no substantial developments were made on the matter since the TTP's offer, reported Express News correspondent Shaheryar Khan.

This is a man never to be trusted. Just wait and you will see for yourself. He is a man of the Taliban. A big manipulator and power hungry.
