The government has launched a project to transfer the audio archives of Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) into digital format to preserve it and make it available online.
The US embassy, the PBC (Radio Pakistan) and Internews Network on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding at Broadcasting House Islamabad on conversion of precious archival material of Radio Pakistan.
“It is pleasure for the US embassy to assist the PBC in digitising its illustrious recordings covering 66 year social and political history of the country for its audience and coming generations,” said US Embassy official Peter Brennan.
He said the archives of the PBC also have material related to the Pakistan-US relations and friendship.
