Breastfeeding is the best way of providing ideal and perfect nutrition to an infant, said Professor Dr Amin Jan from the Department of Child Health in Khyber Teaching Hospital on Wednesday.
Jan was speaking at the opening ceremony of Breastfeeding Week, which takes place between August 26 and August 31. Jan said due to lack of awareness, 95% of mothers in Pakistan were feeding their babies late after the birth, causing infant deaths.
He added breastfeeding provides protection from diseases like diarrhoea and pneumonia in addition to containing health enhancing enzymes, proteins and hormones.

Does not make sense. What is "late", next hour, next day, next week, next month, next year? How many babies are dying because of this?
Some one should investigate cause of this late feeding. Public needs to be educated.
