Targeted Attack: Former UC nazim shot dead

KARACHI: A former union council nazim of Jamaat-e-Islami, Zafar Iqbal, was shot dead at his shop in the Liaquatabad furniture market by unidentified assailants on Saturday. The deceased was elected as the naib-nazim for Liaquatabad’s UC 8 and was said to be a close friend of late Dr Pervez Mehmood, former Liaquatabad town nazim, who was also shot dead in September last year, said the Super Market police. The funeral prayers for the deceased were offered on Saturday evening in front of the furniture market.
