Flash floods: Two sisters drown in stream

Sumaya committed suicide after a dispute with her family over a domestic issue, says police.

MUZAFFARABAD: Two sisters were swept away by flash floods in Khurshidabad Havayli, some 108 kilometres from here. According to reports, Saba Rafiq, 12, and Farah Rafiq, 7, were crossing a stream, which was in high flood after the recent torrential rains, when they were washed away by the current. Later, the locals recovered the bodies. The victims were buried at a graveyard. In another incident, a young girl committed suicide after hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her residence in the Kankani Bagha area in Kotli. According to the police, 18-year-old Sumaya committed suicide after a dispute with her family over a domestic issue. The police registered a case and started investigation.
