Asif, Asjad progress to snooker quarters

IBSF World Champion Mohammad Asif and defending champion Asjad Iqbal moved into the quarter-finals of the 5th NBP Ranking Snooker Championship while young guns Mohammad Majid and Humza Akbar crashed out in the last-16 at the NBP Sports Complex yesterday.


Asif had little trouble beating Abdul Sattar 5-2. Meanwhile, Asjad ousted Sharjeel Mehmood 5-0.

In another matches, Mohammad Sajjad got the better of former world champion Mohammad Yousuf, winning 5-1. Khurram Agha won 5-4 against Farhan Noor while Sohail Shehzad defeated Sultan Mohammad 5-2. Imran Shehzad booked his place with a 5-3 victory over Abu Saim.
