KOTLI: The Indian army on Saturday allegedly violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (Loc) in Nakial Sector, Azad Kashmir, by firing across the border and killing one Pakistani soldier besides injuring a woman, Express News reported.

The incident follows two consecutive days of firings across the LoC that have resulted in the deaths of at least four army personnel.

On Friday, Pakistan had summoned the Indian High Commissioner to lodge a strong protest against the killing of two Pakistani soldiers (Captain Sarfraz and Sepoy Gul Wahab) and the injury of four others (including civilians) from unprovoked firing along the LoC from the Indian side of the border.

Cross border incidents of firing across the sensitive LoC have heightened tensions between the two nuclear armed neigbhours and have prompted world concern.

This madness needs to stop in 21st century. India is heading into polls and is counting on anti Pakistan votes. In Pakistani election this year there was no mention of anti india rhetoric. India needs to grow up.

Pakistan should teach Indians a lesson on LOC, now – this madness is getting to a point that a common citizen in Pakistan is developing negative feelings toward India & Indians … India definitely needs to grow up and for the sake of elections and votes this attitude can create more problems between two countries …

This will continue until the winter sets in. There will be many attempts from Pakistan’s side to infiltrate terrorists to India and India this time is taking pro-active action. Once the winter sets in, infiltrations becomes difficult and these firings will stop.

Deaths of these soldiers are indeed regrettable. I say this though I Aman Indian. These people are simple patriotic people who follow orders. The problem is with those who gave the order to heat up the LOC(to know who that was, ask which county’s 5 soldiers were ambushed and brutally killed.

Secondly this has nothing to do with religion. Did Iran Nad Iraq not fight a war? Did Iraq not attack Kuwait? Has a Muslim leader in Syria not killed Tens of thousands of fellow Muslims? What is happening. In Egypt? What happened in 1971 to Bengali Muslims – who killed them? Who is killing Shias from Quetta to Parachinar to GB? Do you know that 40 Muslims were also killed during the 26/11 attack?

When atheist government of Stalin killed millions of its own citizen what role did religion play on that?

Finally, if multiple religions were not permitted then everyone would belong to the oldest religion, not the youngest one. Have you thought about that?Recommend

Since ET seems to have blocked my comment. I repeat again – LoC is no Jalalabad or Kabul or Kandahar. All deaths are to be mourned, but to expect our Army to take its dead lying down was a wishful thinking to start with. Indian Army is not Pakistani public. Accountability will be enforced.

No, they wouldnt even react if their own children are killed. Only when a shrapnel flies too close by them they would stand up and do something. Our soldiers paid with their lives, and these “leaders” made a mockery out of it. We as a nation and race (muslims) have lost all respect and value for life and still declare our selves as the “Chosen ones”. Its pathetic.

You’re a good man , and I like to see you comment here.

    But when you say :

“Finally, if multiple religions were not permitted then everyone would belong to the oldest religion, not the youngest one. Have you thought about that?”

I dont find it as highly logical as all the rest that you had said.

If multiple religions were not permitted , means only one will be permitted. Doesnt mean that the one allowed religion is logically the one which came into existance first.

If we discuss this statement any further , the discussion becomes a religious debate.

All I want to say is that if only one religion was agreed upon , then one cant just say that it would be the oldest one to come into effect.

Are you really an Indian ??? Go and read the news in all world channels including CNN and BBC when 5 Indian soldiers were Killed by Pakistan army – August 6th- August 8th/2013 and the useless reaction of Pakistan Foreign minister and the Pakistani media who blamed the Indian media for over reacting and charged Indian media for spreading anti Pakistani feelings. The least was done by one and almost all majority in Pakistan except Mr Nawaz Shariff who was in Saudi Arabia and on return to Pakistan condemened the killing of 5 Indian soldiers. Now Pakistan is releasing Indian fishermen after big hue and cry in India & Indian army is forced to retaliate by killing Pakistani soldiers. What many idiots in India are reacting to this is only 4 Pakistani soldiers have been killed yet against 5 of India- Unfortunately; there is no winner in a tit for tat situation. LOSE LOSE for both sides when the AAM JUNTA in India does not want Indian Prime minister to go and talk peace with Pakistan in New York. Now Pakistan is trying to cover up their act. NO USE> TOO LITTLE TOO LATE.

    @Asif Butt:
Thank you for your kind words. I think you misunderstood what I meant. I was not referring to the possibility that today all of a sudden everyone in the world will have some great referendum and agree on one common religion. Of course if that were to happen, then as you rightly said, there is no saying which religion might be chosen. There is no reason to believe it is the one that is the oldest. Since i do not foresee any such global referendum or consensus on religion (nor do I see a need for it – live and let live works just fine for me) , my point was the only way that all people in the world could belong to only one religion is if the oldest religion in the world had apostasy type laws which prevented anyone from converting to another religion and thus no religion was ever established after the first one. Please note I am not advocating that this woild have been desirable. In fact, though I am a Hindu, I am glad that there was space for creation of Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism in India. Anytime a new religion comes in, the existing religion is forced to clean up the corrupt practices that enter any living religion.

On a separate note, I must say I am surprised by your comment about war. 5 Indian soldiers were killed. India has now retaliated by killing 4 Pakistani soldiers, while I do not wish any more death for any one, I would be surprised if this stops before the score is even. I think instead of leading to war will lead to at least temporary peace. Vajpayee had tried peace talks twice but never succeeded in getting peace. Then he signaled a willingness to fight back and defend Indi a’s land and people and lo and behold the 2003 ceasefire treaty was signed and there was a truce at least for some years.

Finally what I am really surprised is that killing of 4 soldiers in retaliation invokes such passion and war cries, yet unilateral killing of innocent Pakistanis in mosques, playgrounds, hospitals, markets, funerals does not invoke equally passionate cries of war and there is a strong movement to lay down arms against TTPby disowning this war and calling it Amreeka ki jang. I wonder why?

    P.S. I am a woman not a man.Recommend

    @ Gp65:
Can you enlighten what were the reasons for demand of Pakistan (by muslims) if it was not religion? Why we could not achieve peace between two nations after 67 years if it is not religion? When you dig deep, you will find the first and foremost factor to be the religious and sectarian hatred (in addition to racial, cultural, economic, political etc) for all the examples you gave in your comment.
And also, there was no religion when humans evolved on this planet.

Look you have Pakistan, make it a happy place. If you think Pakistan was formed because Hindud and Muslims hated each other then do you wonder why 85% of the Muslims who lived in present day India did not move to Pakistan in 1947?

In 2012 how many Hindu Muslim killed each other in India? 0 . Now tell me how many Muslims killed Muslims in Pakistan in the same period? At least in India majority of people do not bother about religion of neighbor, friend or colleague. They practice their own religion and let others practice their own. Religion is not the basis of hating someone in my opinion.. But if you want to hate others who worship differently fine, live with the heartburn. No one is going to change their religion to yours just because they are afraid you will hate them.Recommend

Yes. They were riots in which 754 Muslims and 250 Hindus died. They happened more than 11 years ago. They were triggered by the fact that some Muslim extremists burnt 58 Hindu pilgrims alive.

Since you have so much interest in Gujarat, can I ask you how many people died in communal riots in Gujarat in the last 11 years? Answer is ZERO. How many Hindus were convicted for their role in the Gujarat riots? 33( in addition to Muslims who were also convicted).

Now let me ask you in Karachi where everyone is a Muslim, how many people’s have been killed in a target killing in the last 11 years? How many people have been convicted?
